Arc Autism Resource Center Finds a Scarce Resource at Liberty Bay Credit Union

Community, Press Release |

BRAINTREE, MASS. (April 10, 2019) – As Autism Awareness is highlighted during the month of April, The Arc of the South Shore Autism Resource Center continues its efforts to educate and support families who are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. One of the services provided by the Center includes a parent support group; however, with meeting space as a scarce resource, Liberty Bay Credit Union has been honored to host the Autism Resource Center for their monthly meetings at Liberty Bay’s Braintree Community Room.

The Autism Resource Center was founded in 2014 and is run by Program Coordinators Janine Birmingham and Diane Wilcox. The Center provides invaluable programming to families including various workshops and school vacation week programs such as music therapy, art and yoga, in addition to the parent support group.

Autism Program Coordinator Janine Birmingham said, “The Autism Resource Center provides information, referrals and inclusive, community-based programming for children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families/caregivers. We are so grateful to Liberty Bay Credit Union for helping us carry out our mission by graciously providing a beautiful, welcoming and conveniently located space that is readily available for our educational forums, workshops and groups. Liberty Bay Credit Union is helping us to make a difference in the lives of the individuals and families we proudly serve and we thank them wholeheartedly.”

“The Arc of the South Shore has been a valuable partner of Liberty Bay Credit Union for almost three years and we are so happy to provide meeting space for such a wonderful organization while they are renovating their offices. We truly value the relationships we have with our community partners and are always happy to lend a helping hand should the need arise,” said Peter Dennis, Executive Vice President of Affinity Banking.
